King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia is reviewing multiple expansion plans of Kaaba/Haram ( Mecca ) which can expand the capacity of pilgrims to hold 5m worshippers in one go.

One leaked plan by Atkins, the British architect company, show an Ottoman-era section of the Haram mosque replaced by a multi-storey prayer hall, boosting capacity from 900,000 worshippers now to more than 3m.
