Guy who supported HTML 5 and not Silverlight.. departing from Microsoft

Bob Muglia  head of Microsoft’s Server and Tools business department was at the center of a issue last year when he commented at the company’s PDC that HTML5 not Silverlight was the best technology for cross-platform rich application development and delivery on mobile phones. This caused major stir among Silverlight developers and companies which took that to mean Microsoft was giving up on Silverlight.To clear the confusion corporate vice president Scott Guthrie came into scene with announcement of Silverlight 5.

Well, now Well Bob Muglia has agreed to leave the company during the summer as Microsoft continues its transition to a post-PC world of cloud computing after spending 23 years with Microsoft. In an interoffice memo, CEO Steve Ballmer said Microsoft wants to build on its success and “move forward into the era of cloud computing.”
