Facebook web search results are now powered by Bing
IT shouldn’t come as a surprise to you to see Microsoft’s revamped search engine Bing to power web search feature of Facebook, since Microsoft is trying to push its search capabilities to new heights and trying to gain as much market share from its arch rival Google. Microsoft directions are also clear as a result of Microsoft and Yahoo’s search deal which will also help Microsoft gain search market traffic.
As far as Facebook search results are concerned, it will certainly help Microsoft search engine increase its market share and awareness among masses as Facebook has almost 250 million users world wide and increasing.
Meanwhile Microsoft arch rival Google is enjoying search queries from MySpace which is also Facebook’s competitor. It is interesting to note that according to Techcrunch post, Facebook surpassed MySpace users share and is the market leader in social media networking, will it also hold true for Bing it remains to be seen, but one thing is sure that search market wars are waging and Microsoft is seriously competing this time and all bets are on.![]()
