Are you a concerned world citizen and want to see how the Global Warming is going to effect the world and especially your country in future, tap into the new Google Earth Plug-in ”Google Earth climate change 3D”. This plug-in loads new layers on top of Google Earth maps displaying the range of expected temperature and precipitation changes under different global emission scenario, possible throughout the century. This tools generates prediction of results for such scenarios for next 90 years based on the data provided by internal governmental Panel on Climate Change.
For general users, it will be interesting to know the climate changes on their own country and region using this plug-in either in Google Earth or visiting the plug-in page. The video tour available within the plug-in, in which Al Gore explains the new upcoming features of this plug-in such as ongoing effects of rising sea level, polar ice melting phenomenon and draught conditions. At the moment only temperate and precipitation changes are available, but Google plans to introduce new layers about community efforts to curb global warming and reducing their carbon footprint.
This plug-in is part of the global campaign to inform people and make them aware about the real threats of global warming and prompt them to do something about it. Google is participating actively in these efforts and also forming a partnership with CNN to launch a new YouTube channel “Raise your voice on climate change”
